Construction Underway at Clayworks in Golden

Following nearly four years of design, planning and entitlements, construction is officially underway at Clayworks, AC Development’s transformational new mixed-use project in Golden, Colorado. Tryba Architects is providing master planning for the 12.4 acre redevelopment of the former CoorsTek manufacturing site in addition to design for CoorsTek’s new Phase 1, 182,000 SF international corporate headquarters.

The team also includes Michael Hsu Office of Architecture (retail design), Wenk Associates (landscape architecture), ME Engineers (MEP engineering), KL&A (structural engineering), Martin/Martin (civil engineering), Entroba (sustainability) and Stok (LEED + WELL).

Clayworks represents a significant investment in Golden’s future while reflecting the nearly 150-year legacy of the Coors family of companies. The 5-block development extends Golden’s historic downtown with a focus on creating a dynamic environment for residents and businesses—integrating innovation, sustainability, health and wellness and the outdoors. A combination of new and adaptively reused structures—contributing to Clayworks’ ambitious sustainability goals—are interwoven with historic artifacts to celebrate the craft and innovation that characterize CoorsTek’s history of glass and ceramics manufacturing on site. Clayworks establishes a transformational, sustainable innovation community designed to create meaningful connections between people, nature and place.
