Westminster Commons – A new second floor space is enclosed by a glazed façade—the Lantern—bringing new light and life to the entry. Visible from both the Dahlia and Eudora Street facades, the Lantern floods the space with natural light and offers views to the original 1910 sanctuary.

Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church

For more than 116 years, Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church has been a prominent landmark and community cornerstone in Denver’s historic Park Hill neighborhood. A collaborative process with the Church resulted in the Long-Term Campus Vision, a roadmap for restoration over the next 20 years. The first phase of implementation, including exterior renovations and landscaping, historic renovation and new construction, is currently underway.

Tryba staff toured the site on December 3, 2021. Construction has progressed to include drywall installation and a new skylight featuring sacred glazing panels re-installed at the gable ends.

Contemporary yet contextual, the Lantern introduces light and transparency with minimal disturbance to the historic stone facade. Clearly delineating the church’s entry, the double-height space provides an accessible route to the Sanctuary choir loft.

Previously used for storage, the corridor to the west of the Miller Chapel will begin a new chapter welcoming visitors to the historic space. Enhancements include meticulous restoration of the windows and window frames, plaster walls, ceiling, and original tile floors.

The Miller Chapel is converted into a flexible, dynamic space for a variety of events. Lighting upgrades and careful restoration of historic wood paneling and windows elevate the experience of this historic sanctuary space.
