The Legacy Building serves as a civic anchor for the National Western Center and a permanent home for the Western Stock Show Association. Located at the heart of the $1 billion National Western campus transformation, the 115,000-square-foot building brings together headquarters, galleries, event venues, and hospitality spaces that extend the life of the campus beyond the annual Stock Show.
Integrated within the historic Livestock Exchange complex (1898–1919), the building establishes continuity through its massing, scale, and material palette. Drawing from the durable character of early stockyard-era structures, the architecture connects contemporary civic expression with the working heritage of Denver’s historic stockyards.
Weathered steel, sandstone, and heavy timber reinforce this lineage while shaping a building designed for both daily activity and major public events. Through gathering spaces, cultural exhibitions, and expansive terraces overlooking the campus and Rocky Mountains, the Legacy Building strengthens the National Western Center as a place of exchange, leadership, and community for generations to come.
