Concept Visioning

When Denver was named as one of two finalists for the location of the new National Medal of Honor Museum, Tryba Architects was selected to provide the design. Located on the axis of Denver’s vibrant 16th Street Pedestrian Mall, the museum would become a highly visible landmark and a powerfully uplifting experience.

The museum was planned to occupy the final remaining site adjacent to Colorado’s State Capitol building, supporting the museum’s mission to engage and unite the community. The program included an iconic entry and visitor’s center, exhibition space and Hall of Valor, chapel, rooftop observation terraces, and integrated below-grade parking. The unique site at the intersection of Civic Center and the Central Business District would elevate the museum as a truly integral part of civic, cultural and commercial life, both for residents and visitors.

A new iconic landmark deeply woven into civic life
